About us

SCI is a leading and trusted company in the market of micronized calcium carbonate in both stearic acid and untreated forms. It is produced to the highest specifications and purity standards up to 250 microns by the latest production lines of grinding and packaging technologies, where quality control is ensured and proven by our laboratories equipped with the latest particle size analyzers.

Our quarries

Our quarries are among the best limestone quarries in the region, and the whitest and purest, ranging from 97% to 99% calcium carbonate with a low percentage of silica and iron oxide. The stones are carefully selected with the lowest percentage of impurities and the latest crushers are used to prepare the limestone to transport it to our factory for grinding. These features are among the many reasons that make the company able to meet the market needs for high-quality limestone products that are used in many important industrial applications.

Uses

Ink industry

Ink industry

Calcium carbonate plays an important role in determining the quality of ink. The ink prepared with calcium carbonate is smooth, stable, has good printability and strong covering power.

Adhesives and Sealants

Adhesives and Sealants

The adhesive is mainly composed of base glue, curing agent, filler, coupling agent and catalyst. With the rapid development of properties in packaging materials and building materials

Paints and coatings

Paints and coatings

High grade ground calcium carbonate is widely used in paint as filler due to its ability to improve the performance of paint due to its competitive price

Cables

Cables

Calcium carbonate is generally used in the protective covering of mining wires and cables, high voltage wires and cables, marine wires and cables, electrical wires and cable glue.

Plastic industry

Plastic industry

The addition of light calcium carbonate plays a structural role in plastic products, as a filler and expander including injection molding and blow molding.

Paper making

Paper making

In the paper industry, calcium carbonate is applied in the manufacture of paper itself and in paper coating.

Glass and ceramics

Glass and ceramics

Calcium carbonate thanks to its iron content in very low concentrations (0.005%) and high purity, it enables the production of pure crystalline glass products that give the closest and most clear appearance to the natural color of glass.

Rubber

Rubber

Calcium carbonate is mainly used in tire and rubber products. It can increase volume, reduce cost and improve rubber processing performance as it adds hardness and reinforcement while bonding rubber molecules.

Pipes

Pipes

Calcium carbonate is used as a functional filler in the production of pipes that carry water, sewage, etc.

Agriculture

Agriculture

It is an essential mineral for the growth, development and production of livestock and pets and plays an important role in maintaining health, especially when more natural feed is not available.

Food

Food

Calcium carbonate can be used as a food additive, and a small amount should be added to food, usually no more than 2%, to ensure the necessary calcium intake of the human body.

Pharmaceutical industry

Pharmaceutical industry

Calcium carbonate is an important component in the pharmaceutical industry culture medium. In addition to providing calcium elements, calcium carbonate works..

Carpet floor adhesive

Carpet floor adhesive

As a filler mineral in carpet floor adhesive applications. Our products are easily dispersed in latex due to proper grain distribution

Non-woven fabrics

Non-woven fabrics

Provides application-specific performance improvement, such as increased softness, opacity, strength and filtration efficiency of nonwovens and fibers.

Oil industry

Oil industry

Calcium carbonate is widely used in the oil industry because it is heavy, increases the density of drilling fluids, and helps control downhole pressure.
