Calcium carbonate is mainly used in tire and rubber products. It can increase volume, reduce cost, and improve the processing performance of rubber, adding hardness and reinforcement, while firmly bonding rubber molecules to increase stability to temperature changes, providing corrosion resistance, and as an expander and separator. The most important applications of the rubber industry are:
1- Rubber: Rubber products containing nano calcium carbonate are much better than ordinary calcium carbonate in elongation, compression deformation, yield strength and tear resistance. Calcium carbonate treated with special technology has high surface activity. Under ultraviolet radiation, it can release mobile electrons and easily react with oxygen or organic substances to kill viruses and bacteria. Therefore, calcium carbonate also has the effect of sterilization and disinfection.
2- Tires: Calcium carbonate can replace carbon black and white carbon black in the production of automobile tires. Its application is mainly in parts with lower pressure, such as sidewall, cord compound, inner layer rubber, insulating rubber, etc. In production, nano calcium carbonate and active zinc oxide can greatly improve the strength of tire tread compound.
