In paper industry, calcium carbonate is applied in the paper itself and in paper coating.
1- Paper industry:

– Provides less consumption of cellulose
– Gives whiteness and brightness to the paper
– Provides low abrasion ability
– Prevents paper rot as it gives an alkaline environment to the paper which is usually acidic
– Provides dimensional stability of the paper.
– Low yellow value and high resistance to ultraviolet rays
– Shows high dispersion effect and low corrosion.
– Reduces the amount of pulp used
– Easy to dry.
