In paper industry, calcium carbonate is applied in the paper itself and in paper coating.
\n1- Paper industry:
\n– Helps protect the fibers.
\n– Provides less consumption of cellulose
\n– Gives whiteness and brightness to the paper
\n– Provides low abrasion ability
\n– Prevents paper rot as it gives an alkaline environment to the paper which is usually acidic
\n– Provides dimensional stability of the paper.
\n– Low yellow value and high resistance to ultraviolet rays
\n– Shows high dispersion effect and low corrosion.
\n– Reduces the amount of pulp used
